Double Door Inn

IN 1973, a young real-estate planner, tasked with filling a vacant building, bought the original Double Door Location. Nick Karres, the owner, wanted to open a suitable location for young people to gather and enjoy some night life. As the bar gained popularity, music was soon to follow.

in 1976 the venue caught its first break as members of the Dixie Dregs, a popular southern-rock group, headlined a show. THe atmosphere was perfect, and they began drawing a more blues oriented crowd. As the album developed, its owners were not afraid to take risks with new acts, sometimes forsaking profitability for talent.

Today, the Double Door in is host to Blues, Jazz, and Rock music. The venue is host to the Bill Hannah Jazz Jam weekley as well as the Monday Night Allstars every, you guessed it, Monday night! On rotating basis, the Double Door Inn still hosts numerous other local bands.
