Subject
Charlotte N.C., South Tryon St., Trust Building, Academy of Music, Y.M.C.A., Music
Description
Color postcard of Charlotte NC in 1907 showing the residential-commercial mix of the Third Ward District. To the right of the postcard can be seen the YMCA with its distinctive turrets and brown granite stone. Next door is the office of Charlotte's Consolidated Construction Company and then the fine Southern States Trust Building housing the Academy of Music. The Piedmont Realty building ends the urban trend of this row and on the corner lot of South Tryon and West 3rd Street is the Fist Associated Reformed Church. Beyond are rows of Victorian homes.
