Description

This panoramic photograph of South Tryon Street is taken from the County Court House in April 1899. The scene is very urban, except for one small house sandwiched beween the Piedmont Building on the extreme left of the photograph and the distinctive Y.M.C.A. building with its tower and turret. The Opera House is the building opposite the Y.M.C.A.
