This is page 35 of "Sketches of Charlotte", a promotional pamphlet that was published by the Charlotte Chamber of Commerce in 1904. On the page is a photograph titled "Scenes on South Tryon Street". The photograph shows stores and other businesses. In the center of the photograph is the most likely location of the Charlotte Opera House. The building has a prominent front gable and decorative windows. The Opera House was built by J.H.Caroson and Lewis W Sanders starting in 1873. It opened in September 1874.
