Description
This program describes Charlotte's second music festival, which was held in the purpose built Auditorium at Fifth and Church Street on May 5th and 6th, 1891. The festival was organized by the North Carolina Choral Association whose president, Joseph MaClean, was the head of Music at the Charlotte Female Institute. The Baltimore Symphony Orchestra was brought in for the event as the resident orchestra and a choir of 300 members was created from around the state of North Carolina.
